About the Event
Join Saved by Nature, Latino Outdoors and California State Parks for an inclusive nature hike through a majestic old-growth redwood forest at one of California's most diverse state parks, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park! This unique ecosystem of ancient coast redwood trees has captured the interest and dedication of many people.
Our hike will begin with a 0.8-mile flat Redwood Loop Trail. Here you will discover survival adaptations of the coast redwood and encounter “The Giant”, which is the park’s largest tree approximately 277 feet tall and about 1,500 years old. We will also take a flashlight and step inside the famous Fremont Tree.
After lunch, the hike continues! We’ll hop on the River Trail to look for rainbow trout in the San Lorenzo River on our way to relax at Cable Car Beach. We’ll then return on Pipeline Road under the shade of skyscraping redwoods.
