About the Event
Join Saved By Nature, Latino Outdoors and California State Parks for an inclusive nature hike at one of California's most diverse state parks, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park!
Our 3.0-mile adventure will begin with a 0.8-mile hike on the old-growth Redwood Loop Trail. Here you will discover survival adaptations of the coast redwood and encounter “The Giant”, which is the park’s largest tree approximately 277 feet tall and about 1,500 years old. We will also take a flashlight and step inside the famous Fremont Tree.
We’ll enjoy lunch at the picnic benches under the shade of bay laurel. After lunch, the hike continues to the visitor center before hopping on the River Trail down to the San Lorenzo River where for those who are interested can wade in the shallow water or relax on the sandy beach. “(Limited to 50 people.)
Lunch and drinks in addition to the $10 parking fee is being paid for by CA State Parks.
Saved By Nature is providing $20 gas cards to all registrants.
