About the Event

High in vitamin A and C elderberries are an excellent source of minerals and electrolytes. A not so talked about superfood, they've been a source of livelihood for our first peoples for thousands of years.

Program #1 – Los Gatos Creek - 08/11/20  10AM - 11AM

We'll go on a virtual nature hike along Los Gatos Creek to look for wildlife and to listen to the sounds of flowing water. Along the way we'll point out edible nuts and berries and stop at an elderberry tree to learn about its various traditional uses. 

Program #2 – Saved By Nature Kitchen – 08/12/20  10AM - 11AM

Live virtual cooking show. We'll be learning how to destem, mash, boil, and strain elderberry jam so that it can be eaten or jarred for storage. 

The first 10 people to register will be put into a raffle to win a free one quart jar…
