Bay Area Hiking Community
What Does Enrollment Mean?
When you enroll in our Community Nature Hikes program, you're joining a community of Bay Area residents who receive monthly invitations to guided hiking adventures designed for underserved communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. ✌️Two Enrollment Pathways: Enrollment gives you access to our monthly hiking experiences that combine recreation with environmental education. We offer two types of enrollment—Priority Registration for qualifying low-income participants aged 20-40, and General Registration for all other community members. Both enrollment types provide the same exceptional outdoor experiences; the difference is simply when you receive your invitation to register. 🤔 How Registration Works: We maintain intimate group sizes (30-40 participants) to ensure quality educational programming and meaningful community connections, so spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis when registration opens. Priority Registration participants receive invitations two weeks before each hike, while General Registration participants receive invitations one week before each hike. 💁♂️What You'll Receive: As an enrolled participant, you'll receive advance email notifications about upcoming hikes including detailed trail information, meeting locations, what to bring, and weather updates. We encourage you to attend multiple adventures throughout the year to fully experience the Bay Area's diverse ecosystems while building confidence and lasting friendships with other families who share your commitment to environmental stewardship and outdoor exploration. 👨🏻🏫Progressive Learning: This progressive participation approach allows you to develop from basic nature awareness to more advanced outdoor skills while forming deep connections to the natural environments you're exploring. 🎉Completely Free: All experiences remain completely free. Enrollment, participation, professional naturalist guides, equipment, nutritious meals, and park entrance fees are provided at no cost to ensure financial barriers never prevent your family from accessing these transformative outdoor opportunities.
