Enroll in Our Community Nature Hikes Program
What Does Enrollment Mean?
When you enroll in our Community Nature Hikes program, you're joining our priority registration system for monthly guided hiking adventures designed specifically for underserved communities, including low-income families and BIPOC communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Enrollment gives you early access to sign up for our monthly hiking experiences that combine recreation with environmental education, but it doesn't guarantee a spot at every adventure. We maintain intimate group sizes (30-40 participants) to ensure quality educational programming and meaningful community connections, so spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis among enrolled participants. As an enrolled participant, you'll receive advance notifications about upcoming hikes via email, including detailed trail information, meeting locations, what to bring, and weather updates. We encourage you to attend multiple adventures over a two-year period to fully experience the Bay Area's diverse ecosystems while building confidence and lasting friendships with other families who share your commitment to environmental stewardship and outdoor exploration. This progressive participation approach allows you to develop from basic nature awareness to more advanced outdoor skills while forming deep connections to the natural environments you're exploring. All experiences remain completely free—enrollment, participation, professional naturalist guides, equipment, nutritious meals, and park entrance fees are provided at no cost to ensure financial barriers never prevent your family from accessing these transformative outdoor opportunities.
